SEND Teaching Assistant
Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistants
Location: Newham
Are you passionate about supporting students with special needs and making a real difference in their educational journey? Do you have experience with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and other complex needs? If you are resilient, have a can-do attitude, and are experienced in using visual aids like PECs and visual calendars, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support for students with ASC, PMLD, MLD, and other complex needs.
- Utilise visual aids such as PECs, visual calendars, and other tools to enhance learning.
- Assist with personal care needs of students.
- Engage in manual handling (desirable).
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain a positive and resilient attitude in challenging situations.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with special needs.
- Understanding and experience using PECs, visual calendars, and other visual aids.
- A can-do attitude and strong resilience.
- Child and adult DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certification.
- Ability to assist with personal care needs.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Manual handling training and experience.
