Accelerate Teaching is thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a distinguished Special Needs School in Wakefield. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Learning: Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Student Engagement: Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging students' social and emotional development.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare learning materials and resources to support effective teaching.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • One-on-One Support: Provide personalised support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their learning goals.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for each student.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student progress and any concerns, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with school policies.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within a special needs setting, is essential.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or child development are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and compassionate approach to working with children.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to various situations and learning styles, ensuring all students are supported effectively.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset to work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.
