A specialist SEND Secondary school in Croydon are currently recruiting SEND teaching assistants to join their school in September.

The Role 

In this role you will be working with secondary age students with severe learning disabilities and autism. This role will involve supporting learning and development activities specifically designed for the learners in the class and providing some care support. You will work closely with teachers and therapy teams and support a range of students on a 1 to 1 basis.

The school are looking for committed and enthusiastic SEND teaching assistants who have experience supporting young people with SEND although not necessarily in a school environment. You should be willing to get involved in all aspects of pupil’s care and progress, be able to work under pressure and have good communication and interpersonal skills.

The school

This specialist co-educational secondary school is for young people with severe learning disabilities and autism, aged between 11 and 19. All students have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health and Care Plan.

The school offers students a vibrant and engaged learning environment to enable students to lead lives full of choice and opportunity.  Each learner has access to their own personalised curriculum that meets their strengths and needs. Staff take a respectful, holistic approach and work closely with families and outside agencies to provide the best opportunities for the students at the school.

There is a dedicated leadership team in place at the school and there are excellent training and CDP opportunities for staff.
