SEND tutors / teachers - Surrey

Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements or those unable to attend mainstream school. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN Tutors, SEN Teachers, Tutors and HLTA's.

We are currently recruiting for KS2-KS4 Tutors all across Surrey.

Specifically, we need to provide provision to students based in Redhill, Horley, Guildford and Camberley, as well as various other localities. The young people requiring support are predominantly KS3 & KS4 (though we do have others in KS2 also requiring support). Support in core subjects (Math, English and Science) is required. The young people have a variety of needs, including ASC/ASD, anxiety, SEMH, medical and ADHD, so preferable if the tutors/teachers have experience supporting a variety of needs.

  • Location - All across Surrey including Redhill, Horley, Guildford and Camberley.
  • Position - 1:1 Tutor
  • Start date - 4th September
  • End date - support needed up to the end of the academic year (July 2025).
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Hours - flexible depedant on your schedule - up to 35 hours available - we can be flexible with hours
  • Rate of pay - from £25 per hour for unqualifued tutors. Up to £35 per hour for Teachers with QTS
  • Term Time Only
  • During School Hours Only

We are looking for candidates who are:-

  • Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
  • Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
  • Experience teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD
  • Exceptional behaviour management strategies.
  • Prepared to work face to face within the community or family home.

Requirements

  • Background teaching in English, Maths or SEN classes
  • QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects
  • Experience working with SEMH/ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
  • 2 years previous experience working within a UK school.
