We are seeking a dedicated Housing Services Project Officer for a temporary 3-month contract based in Nottingham. This role is crucial for the proactive and intensive end-to-end casework management of Housing First and Housing Led tenancies, part of a new city initiative aimed at supporting individuals with complex needs and histories of rough sleeping.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Provide a dedicated casework management service to Housing First and Housing Led tenancies.
  • Ensure properties are suitable for the individual tenants, taking into account their specific needs.
  • Develop and implement robust Housing Management plans to address and meet the needs of tenants.
  • Manage tenancy issues, including anti-social behaviour and enforcement, effectively.
  • Coordinate and agree on multi-agency meetings for suitable beneficiaries.
  • Support new tenants through the sign-up process to the housing first programme and provide ongoing assistance.
  • Represent the service positively by developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external agencies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and other welfare benefits.
  • Understanding of the legal and statutory framework relating to housing services and anti-social behaviour.
  • Experience in working with multi-agency teams and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to work independently, on one’s own initiative, and experience in lone working.
  • Capable of making accurate and timely decisions under pressure and maintaining control of challenging situations.
  • Working knowledge of legal procedures relating to rent arrears and other debt recovery.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours as needed and willingness to work from other office locations.
