Job Title: Senior Account Manager

Salary: circa £50k plus OTE £70K

Location:Office - Eastleigh, Hampshire -WFH Hybrid 3/5

Report to: Head of Sales (line manager)

The Role
We are excited to present an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Account Manager with a strong media background, ideally within the leisure, hospitality, or catering industries. Join one of the UK’s leading culinary platforms, a highly successful and innovative leader in the catering sector. This role is crucial in driving direct sales and expanding our client base.

As a Senior Account Manager, you will manage direct sales, working closely with clients and advertising agencies. Your responsibilities will include renewing existing bookings, managing key accounts, and actively seeking to grow our client base by securing new business. A significant part of the role involves building and nurturing client relationships through regular face-to-face meetings, ensuring long-term partnerships.

This dynamic role combines office-based responsibilities with fieldwork, offering a unique opportunity to make a substantial impact in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for monitoring your performance against set targets, reporting variances to the Head of Sales and Senior Management and ensuring that every revenue opportunity is maximized. As a leader, you will set the standard, ensuring that calls, meetings, proposals, and revenue targets are consistently met and exceeded.

Core Duties

  • Achieve and exceed all individual and team targets each month
  • Upsell and maximize existing business
  • Spend an equal amount of time on new and existing business
  • Ensure call volumes are high as agreed
  • Ensure presentations and proposals are at a high standard and consistent with other company materials
  • Achieve monthly meeting targets
  • Have main quarterly meetings with key clients/agencies
  • Have a strategy doc for key clients/agencies including entertainment
  • Ensure the leads spreadsheet is up-to-date and contacted on a regular basis including key competitors
  • Ensure you have a detailed competitor knowledge across print, digital and events
  • Have a full and competent working knowledge of all aspects of the businesses website, app, live events, networking and all sales opportunities
  • Ensure the database is constantly updated and maintained
  • Chase renewals and upsell supplier listings.
  • Positively promote the business to external and internal customers
  • Assist with all trade shows, networking and exhibitions as directed by the company and ensure all follow up activities are undertaken within the appropriate time scales
  • Provide diary movements weekly to the Head of Sales
  • Provide expenses monthly to Senior Management for approval
  • Be instramental in providng new ideas which can help scale the business

Sales

  • Ensure you and all team members are fully prepared before client calls and meetings including: researching client, looking at client competitors and preparing questions
  • Ensure presentations and proposals are tailored to the specific client as much as possible
  • Be fully conversant with all selling structures to a level where you can train team members where necessary.
  • Make sure that all team members, including you, obtain comprehensive signed booking forms and these are passed to accounts immediately.
  • Help get all relevant assets to ensure campaigns start on time
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and development from training courses
  • Be constantly aware of competition and market trends
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the hospitality and advertising market
  • Have a monthly sales plan meeting with your line manager

Financial

  • Assist your line manager in the compilation of budgets and forecasts, as required.
  • Ensure that all information relating to invoices are correct and received on time by the accounts department allowing prompt invoicing to take place
  • Be aware of potential bad debt problems and communicate this with accounts
  • Assist the accounts department in pursuing late payment from a client
