Senior Accountant

Careersat Ltd are proud to be recruiting for our established Chartered Accountant practice with multiple practice branches in Staffordshire and Cheshire.

The accountancy practice are seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Accountant with 2-3 years post qualified experience to join their growing team based in their Macclesfield branch on a full time basis.

This role is suitable for Practice experienced candidates or industry experienced candidates.

Reporting to the Branch Director the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients from Agriculture to engineering, SMEs to large corporations, Sole traders and Limited company clients. The role holder will be at the forefront of developing the accountancy practices’ service offering.

This role would suit a candidate who is looking for a client facing role within an established sustainable and innovative accountancy brand.

Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of the role is to provide professional financial advice and exceptional service to clients. You will also have significant involvement in assigning and reviewing draft accounts prepared by the trainee accountants within the team.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior accountant you will carry out the following duties:

·Branch assistant Manager duties

·Servicing a portfolio of clients

·Performance management and billing targets

·Annual accounts (unsupervised)

·Tax accountancy

·Monitoring deadlines

·Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

·Preparation of self assessment tax returns

·Building a positive working relationship with clients and the practice

·Ensure compliance with all financial regulations

·Use of computer software including IRIS, Sage, Xero and Quickbooks

·Dealing with any client queries in a timely and efficient manner

·Assisting colleagues and trainees within the team with development and technical advice

Essential Criteria

·Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with 2-3 years post qualified experience in a practice environment (preferably)

·Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial

·Excellent reporting skills

·Confidently able to offer recommendations and advice to our clients.

·Highly competent with outstanding commercial acumen and a solid grasp of business aims and objective

·Demonstrable experience and a proven track record in a similar role

·Previous experience of working with clients in the agricultural sector preferred

·A full UK driving licence is essential
