Overview

Gallagher Re is looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Controller to join our Asia Pacific team.  

 As an Accounts Controller you will service a portfolio of accounts within the Asia Pac team of Gallagher Re. As part of this role, you will also ensure that balances are collected and paid in accordance with the contractual requirements.

This position will be based in Ipswich and will require daily interaction with other colleagues in London, Mumbai, our Asia regional offices, as well as with our clients and carriers. Experience within a similar role is essential. 


How you'll make an impact

  • Ensure the secure, efficient and auditable handling of client’s monies
  • Own the fiscal relationship for designated clients and act as the main point of contact for all matters relating to payments
  • Actively service accounts to a high standard and ensure timely collection and payment of monies due to/ from clients, reinsurers and third parties; reconciliation, chasing and minimisation of funding to ensure financial metrics are achieved.
  • Use MI to identify debtor related problems and escalate, negotiate and influence where necessary to resolve.
  • Review and correlate cash on a daily basis
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with assigned clients, reinsurers and third parties
  • Complete Account Controller core requirements reviews where appropriate
  • Adhere to standardised Group policies and procedures, Accounting and Settlement fundamentals, including sanctions touch points and other regulatory requirements

About You

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • CII qualifications or studying towards would be beneficial
  • Experience of using Open Twins is desirable 
  • Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Good communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Attention to detail, ability to organise and prioritise
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously; and general willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with both clients and brokers
  • Good time management skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK
