A global market-leading bio-pharmaceutical company is currently looking for a Senior Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to our team. This role involves maintaining a calendar of appointments, meetings, and events, making travel arrangements, and providing any associated clerical support. The successful candidate will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining files, preparing and sorting mail, and performing routine word processing assignments. This position is offered as a 12-month temporary contract.
You would be in the office in Cambridge (Abington) for 3 days per week and you can work from home 2 days per week.

Role:

  • Senior Administrative Assistant
  • £17 p/h - equivalent to approx. £34,000 p/a
  • 12 month temporary contract Start - 02/09/2024
  • Hybrid work pattern - 3 days in office / days WFH
  • Provides administrative and clerical support to managers, including calendar management, meeting arrangements, and travel planning
  • Handles messages, provides information to callers, prepares mail, and maintains files
  • Tracks and verifies data, conducts internet searches, and creates presentation materials and technical documents
  • Liaises with external agencies for departmental activities and coordinates large events, including planning and implementation
  • Acts as a resource to other administrative assistants, assists with space planning or office set-up, and manages department supplies and budget

Profile:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an administrative role. Experience in supporting a department or group of managers would be a plus
  • Strong ability to manage calendars, arrange meetings, and coordinate travel. Experience in coordinating large events and extra-department meetings would be beneficial
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels within the organisation and external agencies
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of office software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc. The candidate should be comfortable with data entry, sorting information, manipulating Excel spreadsheets, and working with Word and PowerPoint documents
  • Ability to track and verify complex data from multiple sources, proofread documents, and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and receive general direction on new lines of work or special assignments. The candidate should be able to take initiative and solve problems as they arise
  • Willingness to act as a resource to other administrative assistants and cover for colleagues during their absence. The candidate should be comfortable working in a team environment and assisting colleagues as needed
