Position: Senior Backend Engineer - Node/TypeScript (French Speaking)

Location: UK - Fully remote

Budget: £70,000 + Stock Options

We have partnered with a global payments provider to simplify cross-border payments. We are expanding in Europe and seeking our first Senior Engineer in Portugal with solid experience in microservices.

Role Overview: As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will report directly to the CTO and develop backend solutions using TypeScript and Node.js. You will also handle unit testing and integrations, and mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement back-end solutions.
  • Maintain a robust CI/CD pipeline.
  • Translate product requirements into technical solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and adhere to best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience within software engineering
  • Strong proficiency with Typescript, Node, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Strong microservices architecture
  • Experience working on Azure/AWS/GCP cloud.
  • Previous experience working within the payments/fintech space will be highly desirable.
  • Must be fluent in French.
