Senior BIM Manager - Infrastructure sector

An amazing opportunity to be a key figure for a National consultancy providing Engineering design services across the Utilities sector (Water / Gas / Power / Energy)

Location: Birmingham or Leeds

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + package

The Role

This role would suit a passionate Senior BIM Manager who is an expert in their field and has held a senior role within a consultancy.

You will be working on several national Frameworks for a growing consultancy that has received major investment and is seeking to expand its BIM division. This role will involve leading the BIM strategy externally, and working with clients to showcase the benefits of BIM implementation in their projects; as such, you will need high-level client interfacing experience.

Along with expert BIM knowledge, you will have excellent communication and key stakeholder management experience with in the Infrastructure sector.

Other key activities for the successful Senior BIM Manager are knowledge transfer, and oversight and involvement of project model setup, consultant engagement, schedule management and model auditing.

This role will involve BIM standardisation, selecting and implementing solutions, and implementing group-wide BIM standards, ISO 19650 standardisation would be an advantage. Implementing processes to manage information over the whole life cycle of a built asset using building information modelling, as well as experience in technical BIM expertise, you will be part of the tendering process, a proven track record of developing comprehensive BIM-based cost estimates that accurately reflect project scope and client requirements.

Duties

Strategic and Leadership Responsibilities:

  • BIM Strategy Development & Implementation:Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive BIM strategy tailored to the water sector. This includes defining standards, workflows, and technology adoption roadmaps.
  • Team Leadership:Build and manage a high-performing BIM team, mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Client Relationship Management:Act as a primary BIM contact for clients, understanding their needs and ensuring project deliverables align with their expectations.
  • Business Development:Contribute to proposals and presentations, showcasing the consultancy's BIM capabilities and expertise, skilled in utilising BIM tools and data to create accurate and transparent cost estimates for water infrastructure projects.
  • BIM Advocacy:Champion BIM adoption within the consultancy and across the client portfolio, promoting its benefits and best practices through presentations, workshops, and thought leadership.
  • BIM Training and Development:Develop and implement BIM training programs for staff at all levels, ensuring everyone is equipped with the necessary skills to effectively utilize BIM in water projects.
  • BIM Research and Development:Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in BIM for the water sector and identify opportunities to incorporate those advancements into the consultancy's practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering subject
  • Extensive experience in BIM implementation and management within the civil infrastructure sector.
  • high-level stakeholder management in a client-side consultancy environment
