Team/Role Overview

The Global Strategic Initiatives (GSI) group sits within Citi's Chief Operating Office (COO). It is a cross functional team supporting operations, delivering metric driven analytics, transparency across enterprise wide initiatives and driving multiple projects and deliverables impacting the firm. The GSI business associate role is a mid-senior level position supporting the department head.

The role plays an integral in understanding, developing and implementing strategic initiatives to optimise operational efficiency, mitigate risks, provide transparency to executive leadership and support business growth. Partners extensively across the enterprise including Operations Business Execution, O&T COO, Finance, Technology and Risk along with the Operations Lines of Business.

The role requires a blend of analytical experience, project management skills, an ability to provide 'consulting' support to key stakeholders and an understanding of banking and financial services.

What you'll do
  • Act as an internal consultant to leadership across Operations and O&T, understanding and developing responses to enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Provide Project Management, supporting end-to-end delivery of initiatives across Operations including project planning, stakeholder managements, reporting and communications
  • Implement strong Governance and Stakeholder management to drive intended business outcomes via clear accountability and robust business cases.
  • Analyse internal and external data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement, synthesizing the work into concise and digestible management information
  • Support the ongoing development of performance monitoring, utilizing KPIs, metrics and analytics to measure cross-group performance, drive process and service efficiency and support reporting to senior management
  • Deliver quantitative financial analysis across cost, headcount, key financial indicators and work drivers
  • Partner with 2nd and 3rd LoD to assess operational risks, regulatory compliance requirements, documenting findings and capturing mitigants against these
What we'll need from you
  • Significant experience in project management, primarily in financial services
  • Project management experience, with a demonstrable track record on complex projects
  • Can demonstrate experience interacting and responding to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to think strategically, problem solve and drive results supported by both qualitative and quantitative reasoning
  • Demonstrates capacity to work in highly pressured & fast paced environment and deal with challenging conversations and outcomes
  • Operates with the highest levels of integrity and trust, can handle highly confidential information and ensure professional detachment when partnering on initiatives
