Live Role: Senior Buyer

  • East London / Essex office
  • Experience with both new build resi & remedial/re-cladding works would be preferable

A very well-established medium-sized contractor, recognised in the London market, is seeking a Senior Buyer due to a flurry of newly secured projects. The company specialises in:

  • Residential new builds

  • RC frame developments

  • Social housing and re-cladding works

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure all materials required across multiple live construction sites

  • Liaise with site teams and commercial staff to forecast material needs

  • Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to secure best value and lead times

  • Maintain procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery to site

  • Track and manage material budgets

  • Build and maintain supplier relationships

  • Research and onboard new material suppliers as required

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and company procurement policies

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar Senior Materials Buyer role within the construction industry

  • Background working on residential, RC frame, and remedial/cladding projects

  • Strong negotiation and cost management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple procurement packages concurrently

  • Well-organised and commercially focused

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement platforms
