Senior Buyer

REED Procurement are partnered with a manufacturing company in the Bridgend area who are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their dynamic Procurement Team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the purchasing strategy of the organisation, with a keen focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in market analysis, negotiation, and supplier management, who is ready to take on a challenging and rewarding position.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify and forecast trends, ensuring alignment with target demographics.

• Emphasise sustainable practices in the exploration of new markets and products.

• Uphold stringent quality standards across all product lines.

• Gather and utilise customer feedback to inform purchasing decisions.

• Forge and maintain advantageous supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms.

• Navigate and comply with current import/export regulations, adapting to legislative changes.

• Perform thorough competitor analysis to stay ahead in the market.

• Manage contracts and oversee the administration of supplier agreements.

• Purchase goods and services in line with organisational goals for cost, quality, and delivery.

• Evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to legal and quality standards.

• Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.

• Facilitate the resolution of any supplier-related issues, maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a procurement role, with a preference for candidates with experience in international markets.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence supplier relationships.

• Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with the manufacturing sector and experience working with diverse suppliers.

• Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and understanding key financial metrics.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

• Proficient in the use of modern procurement software and systems.
