Senior Buyer | Sittingbourne | Up to £40K

A renowned independent business based in Sittingbourne, Kent, is seeking a talented individual to join their expanding team as a Senior Buyer. With a progression plan into Procurement Manager and then onto Procurement Director this is a fantastic opportunity with serious growth included.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Responsible for cost saving and supporting the Senior Management Team
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely procurement of necessary items.
  • Collaborate with the production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and emerging suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse purchasing data and generate reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile:

  • CIPS Qualification (desirable)
  • Experience as a Buyer, preferably in the food industry
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Problem solving abilities
