Senior Buyer

We are proud to partner with one of the UK’s most creative and fast-growing premium retail brands who have seen huge growth in the past 18 months through international expansion, breaking into the high-street retail channel and awesome product development. They are now searching for a Senior Buyer with a passion for premium home retail products, defining & implementing multi-channel sourcing strategy, end to end supplier management and performance optimisation of a growing and complex supplier roster.

What is expected of you?

• Creation, implementation and management of a multi-channel sourcing / buying strategy
• Full operational management of the global supplier network
• Drive contionous & performance improvement across all supply partners.
• Full responsibility for the sourcing of all new suppliers - Identify, negotiate, on-board & manage.
• Responsible for leading supplier negotiations on all current suppliers to maximise margin/profit on all materials, production, labelling and packaging.
• Work closely with design on NPD, ensuring we are sourcing products/materials with optimal suppliers
• Responsible for influencing product development changes/materials to ensure all products are achieving an acceptable margin
• Own, set and track overall Critical Path, ensuring we meet planned launch dates.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve lead times, costs and work on continuous improvement of products.
• Ensure products meet quality and technical specifications working with 3rd party experts
• Work with QA to reduce returns levels and improve product quality ensuring charge back mechanisms are in place for poor quality product returns.
• Working closely with Ops to ensure all packaging and labelling specifications are adhered to as well as ensuring correct paperwork is completed by suppliers for cross border deliveries.
• Developing skills of junior team members, identifying training needs as well as encouraging effective teamwork, KPI setting and communicating clear goals/targets.
• Project management of sourcing & change management projects.

As a fast growing business it is essential that the new Senior Buyer is a dynamic individual who can provide the following experience -

• Retail Sourcing Manager / Buyer with experience of working within the home / gifting retail sector
• Experience of sourcing & managing a complex roster of global suppliers
• Experience of defining and implementing sourcing / buying strategy
• Excellent negotiating skills
• Experience of working within a high growth business
• Pedigree of implementing contionous improvement strategy to improve supplier performance
• Exceptional internal & stakeholder management skills
• Strong communicator who is able to influence across all levels of the business
• Expert analytical and problem-solving abilities
