Job Description - Senior Broker

Our client is an independent wholesale insurance brokerage who specialise in international casualty and cross-class binding authority placements within the London insurance marketplace, including Lloyd’s of London.

They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Broker to join their Casualty team based at their office in the heart of the City (hybrid role). As a Senior Broker, you will play a crucial role in managing clients' Casualty insurance needs. You will work closely with clients to assess their risks and develop effective insurance solutions. You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers, as well as negotiating and placing insurance coverage. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Casualty insurance market, preferably Canadian risks, have a proven track record of delivering exceptional service to clients, and provide guidance and support to junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client's Casualty insurance needs and provide appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, proactively addressing their insurance needs and ensuring total client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Negotiate and place insurance coverage with a focus on achieving the best terms and conditions for clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments in the Casualty insurance industry.
  • Analyse risk exposures and develop effective risk management strategies for clients.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members

Requirements

  • Experience in the Casualty insurance industry, with a proven track record of success working within the Lloyd’s insurance market and preferably Canadian risks.
  • Possess a deep understanding of Casualty insurance products and services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Proficient in using insurance management systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Professional certifications such as CII are preferred, but not required.
