The opportunity

The Wholesale Banking and Capital Markets (WBCM) team brings together a deep knowledge of industry trends and a strong execution experience to help our clients develop and execute their capital markets transformation agendas. As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with clients at all levels of an organisation to help them solve their most important business challenges. You'll help them define and execute change from front-to-back relating to a wide range of agendas, such as cost transformation, process re-engineering, risk and controls mapping, regulatory change, digital strategy, and organisational re-structuring.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for executing your role on a client delivery team to analyse and transform our clients' capital markets businesses. You will work with your team to provide valuable insight and advice to clients to enable them to make strategic and operational decisions about their business. You will also be responsible for supporting the Capital Markets practice in business development and go-to-market (GTM) initiatives, enhancing our capabilities and services.

We require individuals who have a general understanding of bank's regulatory obligations and how they can meet those obligations, but can specifically help our clients with broader-scale transformation of their entire reg mapping operating model.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Work experience in a strategy-focused role across the front, middle or back office, where you will have managed change and transformation that had a real impact to the business
• Detailed understanding of process re-design / re-engineering is required, e.g., as we help banks think through how their processes could be more efficient to lower inherent risk
• A detailed understanding of large-scale data and workflow repositories is required, as we frequently help clients develop or re-engineer their tooling suite in this space (from setting design standards to actual implementation)
• Strong track record in project delivery, with an ability to develop and deliver high-quality output against project objectives to tight deadlines
• Knowledge of a range of financial products (e.g., derivatives, equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and commodities) and industries (e.g., investment banking, broker-dealers, custody, fund administration, investment management)
• Experience in one or more of the following: operating models, cost transformation regulatory change and/or tech-enabled transformation, process re-engineering, policies and procedures, governance design, and risk and controls and in relevant areas, such as: trade life cycle, post-trade operations, front-office structure, clearance and settlement, client onboarding, treasury operations, collateral management and regulatory regimes

• Keen insights into inefficiencies across processes in the capital markets sector and ideas on how to improve organisational performance
• Demonstrated success in understanding clients' needs and developing service offerings to meet their needs, including providing advice on defining and designing business strategy, operations and other functional strategies
• Excellent communication/presentation skills and a self-starter who is comfortable working in a fluid project environment with uncertainty and ambiguity
• Expertise in cultivating mid- to senior-level relationships with clients and the ability to interact with clients up to the C-suite level
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
