We are seeking a Senior Contracts/Commercial Lawyer who will provide high-quality legal and procurement advice on contract and commercial matters, including complex construction, regeneration, and ICT projects. Knowledge of local government governance issues is desirable but not essential.

Our established, Lexcel-accredited Legal Team provides comprehensive services across the full range of organizational functions. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent services and handling a diverse and stimulating variety of work in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, complex legal advice and support to internal and external clients.
- Manage an extensive caseload of high-profile, complex, and sensitive matters.
- Prepare timely legal comments for committee and other papers.
- Provide innovative solutions to complex policy and strategy issues.
- Research, draft, and prepare legal proceedings, witness statements, and court documents.
- Attend court and tribunals to present and defend cases as necessary.
- Ensure all decisions are based on necessary delegated powers under the organization's constitution.
- Supervise junior staff as required and develop positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX.
- Significant and demonstrable post-qualification experience in the relevant practice area.
- High level of advocacy skills.
- Demonstrable experience of managing, motivating, and developing staff.
- Broad experience in advising and interpreting legal issues relevant to the role.
- Must demonstrate high levels of analytical, verbal, and numeric reasoning skills.
