Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is actively looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in Fareham. This role is a permanent position within the Controls and Automation business sector, focusing on delivering high-quality automated solutions to various industries such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Energy/Renewables, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a committed and enthusiastic team member, ensuring successful technical delivery of projects within scope, budget, and time-scale targets.
  • Allocate tasks among team members, monitor progress, and advise the project manager on progress, risks, and issues.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and the engineering team to ensure smooth project progress in accordance with the agreed project lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality processes and procedures.
  • Identify project opportunities and variations.
  • Support the Project Manager in risk and issue management.
  • Promote standardisation and modularisation of systems to enable the use of reusable modules.
  • Provide Health and Safety leadership by example.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience in the full project life cycle, from system specification to on-site commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC and SCADA systems, particularly with technologies such as Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, AVEVA, Ignition.
  • Excellent understanding of control panels, electrical installations, and instrumentation solutions.
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in developing and delivering detailed design documentation.
  • Proficiency in industrial protocols (e.g., OPC, IEC 61850, Profinet, Modbus).
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
