Corporate Tax Senior/Principal Associate – Birmingham – Progression to Legal Director/Partner

My client, a leading national firm, is looking to grow their corporate tax team with an experienced solicitor (5+ PQE) who thrives on complex transactional work and is keen to carve a path towards Legal Director and eventually Partnership.

You’d be advising a stellar client base across FTSE-listed companies, major financial institutions and high-growth private businesses—especially in sectors like tech, energy & renewables, and private equity. The work spans strategic M&A tax structuring, group reorganisations, incentives schemes, and investment fund structuring, often alongside headline transactions.

You’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team in Birmingham with national reach—one that really invests in people, supports flexible working, and values knowledge sharing. Technical excellence is key here, and the firm actively supports further qualifications like the CTA.

What they’re looking for:
  • 5+ years’ PQE in corporate tax, with strong experience in M&A and tax structuring
  • Confidence managing client relationships and leading on key elements of transactional work
  • Experience in private funds, private equity and/or ECM would be a plus
  • A team player who enjoys mentoring and contributing to business development
What’s on offer:
  • A genuinely clear progression route
  • Hybrid working and exceptional flexibility
  • Private medical, generous pension and life cover
  • Paid sabbaticals, wellbeing initiatives and much more
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a forward-thinking, people-first firm with an exceptional reputation in the tax space.
