Senior Credit Controller

Location: Claydon

Contract: Full time, permanent, office based

Hours: 8:30-5pm, Mon-Fri

As a senior Finance team member, you’ll report to the Finance Manager. Your role involves credit control, risk mitigation, and fostering relationships with Sales and Customers. Flexibility, professionalism, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and Approve Credit Limits: Evaluate and approve customer credit limits according to company policies.
  • Account Management: Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions, including placing accounts on hold.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues and major clients to proactively address issues before payment deadlines.
  • Reporting and Guidance: Provide aged debt reports, legal debt collection advice, and cash flow forecasts to Senior Management.
  • Ledger Maintenance: Ensure clear ledgers, resolve over/underpayments, and allocate cash.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Handle phone inquiries, assist with month-end processes, and support Finance Assistant.

Skills/requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
  • Skills Needed: Understanding of credit management, commercial awareness, strong communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Traits: Flexibility, resilience, positive attitude, and teamwork.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Volume Handling: Ability to manage large volumes effectively.
