A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a highly prestigious specialist bank in the heart of the City of London. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Credit Officer, specializing in structured finance, property investment finance, and real estate finance. The role will involve completing the loans that are introduced to the Bank by the Sales Managers, and you will be responsible for the on-going relationships and risk management within the portfolio. Duties of the Senior Credit Officer to include:

  • As a Senior Credit Officer, you will play a pivotal role in structuring transactions, ensuring compliance with the bank's risk appetite while meeting the unique needs of your clients.
  • Client/Broker Interaction: Meet with clients and brokers to understand their requirements, assisting in the structuring of transactions to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
  • Transaction Review: Review and approve term sheets, critically assess Credit Papers before submission to the Credit Committee, and actively contribute as a member of the Structured Finance Credit Committee.
  • Risk Management: Take ownership of credit and risk management within the team. Oversee the monitoring of loan covenants and conditions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the portfolio, proactively identify potential risks, and make recommendations for distressed loans. Play a key role in early identification of deteriorating trends.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with senior internal stakeholders, attend regular portfolio reviews, and actively participate in risk review meetings.
  • File Review and Approval: Review files, sign off on valuations, and monitor surveyor reports, reports on title, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and regulations.

Requirements of for the successful candidate:

  • Educated to University Undergraduate level (or equivalent), ideally in finance, business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in real estate and property lending, with expertise in bridging loans and development finance.
  • In-depth understanding of credit and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
