<u>The Role</u>

As a Senior Criminal Solicitor at Slater Heelis, you will be a key player in our Criminal Law Department, handling a wide range of complex criminal cases. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with over 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to lead high-profile cases, mentor junior solicitors, and contribute to the strategic development of the department.

The Senior Criminal Solicitor will handle a range of work and responsibilities including:

  • Oversee a diverse and complex caseload of criminal matters, including serious and high-profile cases.
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring high standards of client care and service.
  • Represent clients in court, prepare and present cases, and manage all aspects of criminal proceedings.
  • Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  •  Assist in the growth of the Criminal Law Department through networking, marketing initiatives, and client relationship management.
  • Stay updated on the latest legal developments in criminal law and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.

To be successful in applying for this role, you must possess excellent client care skills, you need to be technically strong with an eye for detail as the role heavily realises on data checking and inputting. You must have the ability to communicate effectively. You must also be reliable, organised, able to work in a busy environment, possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
