Senior Development Chemist 

Based in Warrington

About the Role: We are excited to partner with one of the leading forensic providers in the UK to find a talented Senior Development Chemist. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of method development and innovation within the Toxicology and Drugs testing division. Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of forensic science and criminal investigations.

Responsibilities:

  • Method Development: Create and implement cutting-edge methods in line with ISO17025 (2017) and the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice.
  • Process Refinement: Evaluate existing processes, ensuring efficiency and robustness.
  • Quality Assurance: Advise on quality investigations and maintain compliance.
  • Training: Deliver training to the Toxicology analytical team.
  • Market Awareness: Stay abreast of the latest analytical technology, including automation.
  • Project Management: Contribute to business development and strategic impact.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chemist: Relevant qualifications as a chemist or analytical scientist.
  • Experience: Proficiency in drug extraction techniques (e.g., LLE and SPE), immunoassay, and chromatographic methods (HS-GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC-DAD).
  • Standards: Familiarity with ISO17025 (or equivalent) and anti-contamination protocols.
  • Automation: Experience with implementing automated methods is advantageous.
