Senior Disrepair Surveyor

  • Job Type: 9 Month Contract
  • Location: Beeston
  • Day Rate: Negotiable at market rate

An esteemed housing association is seeking a Senior Disrepair Surveyor to provide technical support and guidance to the Responsive Repairs Team. This role is pivotal in delivering a high level of customer service, ensuring consistent approaches across the team, and assisting with the development and implementation of the customer experience strategy. The Senior Surveyor will also be responsible for monitoring team workload, outputs, and productivity, and providing monthly reports to the Regional Property Manager.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Leading on Complex Repair diagnosis, insurance claims,
  • Use analysis and trend identification on complaints to provide feedback to the team and contractors.
  • Assist the Regional Property Manager and Responsive Repairs Manager in achieving objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Resolve complex building issues, disrepair cases, and contribute to the development of the responsive repairs team.
  • Develop and maintain excellent contractor relationships with internal and external contractors and stakeholders.
  • Control expenditure in line with budget provision and ensure complex or planned work streams are managed appropriately.
  • Contribute significantly to the improvement and maintenance of the housing stock and customer relations.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours rota as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good level of experience diagnosing damp and mould work
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement based on customer feedback and performance information.
  • Calm disposition with confident and credible communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple tasks and projects, with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Experience in team development and systematic approach to the diagnosis and management of building defects.
  • Proficiency in the use of SOR, Basket rates, SCHOTT schedules.
  • Experience in working with contractors to negotiate service delivery improvements and value for money.
  • Knowledge of collaborative and partnership working principles, cost modelling, budget management, and CDM regulations.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to repairs.
  • Ability to handle complex issues, maintain relationships, and manage conflict.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes and tight timetables.
  • RICS qualification or working towards qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
