Senior DNA Sequencing Scientist

Location - Cambridge

Duration - Permanent

Our client is a leading Global provider of Genomic Services and an opportunity has now become available for a Senior DNA Scientist to join the company on a permanent basis. This role will be located at their Cambridge facility.

The Role:

Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader the main responsibility for the Senior DNA Analyst is to support on-going Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services for clients. This includes:

· Managing sequencing enquiries and providing technical guidance

· Processing samples for the NGS service

· Interpretation and analysis of NGS data

· Support with method validations and troubleshooting

· Ensure quality compliance and report recording through LIMS

Suitable applicants:

Due to the high-volume of enquiries and expectations of the client, the suitable applicant must have previous experience within an industry laboratory working with genomic sequencing. Additional skills needed include:

· Experience with whole genome sequencing and RNA sequencing

· Prior experience with NGS sequencing

· Previous experience with library preparation

· Skilled in DNA/RNA extraction methods

· Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve laboratory methods

· Experience with Illumina platforms

· Familiarity with LIMS

· Ideally educated to degree level or above in Molecular Biology (or equivalent experience)

In return, my client offers an opportunity to join the company on a permanent basis with a salary between £30,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience)
