Job Title: Senior Ecologist
Salary: Up to £42,000
Location: Exeter/Southwest
My client, a globally recognised multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a qualified Senior Ecologist for a hybrid position located in their Exeter office, serving the Southwest and Wales regions.

Responsibilities of the Senior Ecologist
In the role of Senior Ecologist at this leading multidisciplinary consultancy, you will engage with a variety of dynamic teams and stakeholders, overseeing and coordinating infrastructure projects and project management. Your extensive experience will be utilised to plan and execute surveys, manage ecological mitigation strategies, and apply methodologies such as biodiversity net gain (BNG) and natural capital for data analysis. Additionally, you will mentor junior colleagues, draft and review ecological reports and license applications, and provide expert guidance.
Criteria for the Senior Ecologist
- BSc/MSc in ecology or a related field (essential)
- Significant relevant experience
- Experience in project management
- Strong background in botany (FISC level 4 preferred)
- Licenses for protected species surveys, such as a Bat licence (preferred)
- Valid UK driving licence (essential)
