Senior Finance Business Planning Consultant - Remote role - £74,000 (from June 25) + Bonus (up to 20%) + Benefits
Twenty years ago, the founder of the David Tolson Partnership wanted to build a consultancy that would provide high quality advice and solutions to organisations making a social impact, and be the leading housing consultancy across the UK. Now known as DTP, the organisation is thriving, and entering its next stage of growth and development. As part of this, we are looking to recruit a new Senior Consultant to specialise in the provision of financial business planning and other finance related services, including regulation of the Regulator of Social Housing’s Rent Standard with knowledge of the setting of social housing rents and service charges.
The role offers a unique opportunity to work autonomously with well-established clients across the UK, whilst developing opportunities to nurture new relationships. Benefiting from and having the full support of a long-standing well-established and supportive team, no two days will be the same.
We are seeking an individual with the drive to help take the organisation to the next stage, considering and factoring in future developments in legislation and technology, in the ever-changing landscape of the social housing sector.
Job Purpose:
- Working as part of a team of professional advisors, providing consultancy services to clients, mainly from, though not exclusively, within the social housing sector.
- The role will require candidates to have a high level of experience and skills in social housing finance generally and, in particular, financial business plan modelling and the setting of housing rents and service charges.
- The candidate will work as part of a team and will have the support of colleagues in relation to technical advice and the quality assurance of key outputs, however, must be personally and professionally confident, and capable of working independently in securing and delivering client projects, and liaising with clients.
- The candidate will be a key member of DTP’s Core Team, which will require proactive engagement with team members in supporting the development and delivery of the organisation’s business strategy, as well as engaging and contributing to the delivery of business objectives within a collegiate culture, enabling the consultancy team to thrive and optimise the leverage of a wide range of skills, experience and capacity.
Principle Responsibilities:
Working co-operatively as part of the DTP consultancy team and in particular to:
- Generate and deliver consultancy projects
- Develop client relationships
- Develop new areas of work
- Promote and operate within DTP’s values
- Help to build the DTP brand
Person Specification:
Essential
- Self-starter with the drive and motivation to strive for continuous improvement, to provide a customer focused service on time and to the highest standards in pressurised situations, adding value to the business.
- Capable of being flexible in working arrangements and able to work both independently and collaboratively as a strong team player.
- Advanced level of IT literacy, covering financial and other business-related applications.
- Excellent financial, technical and problem-solving skills, with advanced working knowledge of the social housing finance, in particular, financial business modelling, and ideally rents and service charges.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Commitment to work at all times in line with DTP’s values.
Desirable
- Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA.
- Excellent knowledge of BRIXX.
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements surrounding rents and service charges.
