Job Opportunity: Senior Finance Officer - Sales Invoicing

Department: Finance

Reports to: Head of Financial Accounting

Salary: £34,080 per annum

Ambient Support Limited is dedicated to providing quality social care services. We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Officer - Sales Invoicing to join our finance team and oversee all financial transactions related to income. This senior role is crucial in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, directly supporting our mission.

Role Purpose:

As the Senior Finance Officer - Sales Invoicing, you will manage the sales ledger function, oversee invoicing procedures, and lead credit control efforts. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Finance Business Partners to ensure smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger and Income Management:* Supervise the sales ledger, oversee invoicing, reconcile ledgers, and manage Direct Debit collections.

Advanced Credit Control and Debt Management:* Lead credit control efforts, engage with clients regarding payment issues, and prepare debt trend reports.

Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management:* Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and supervise cash and cheque allocations.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:* Assist in month-end and year-end reporting, generate cash flow and income reports, and support the preparation of financial documentation.

Compliance and Process Improvement:* Enforce financial policies, contribute to process improvements, and support audit processes.

Collaboration and Leadership:* Collaborate with Finance Business Partners, communicate with internal teams, and mentor junior finance staff.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

* Extensive experience in sales ledger management or credit control, ideally within a charity or social care setting.

* Strong analytical and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

* Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Desirable:

* AAT qualification or equivalent finance/accounting certification.

* Knowledge of charity accounting principles and relevant regulations.

* Prior experience in a non-profit or social care environment.
