In this newly created role you’ll love doing analysis. As the Senior Plant
Controller you’ll be analysing materials, time and usage. The factory needs to
run efficiently as financially possible and it’s your role to make that happen.
Operating within the Construction industry isn’t for everybody. Because it does
require working on site every day as that’s where you’re going to see and hear
data which will improve the financial performance of the factory. But working
with a team who are extremely bubbly, are known to crack a few jokes and have fun does make the time fly!

Your new role
The key responsibilities of the Senior Plant Controller are to:
  • Variance analysis.
  • Review costs and lead on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Produce monthly management reports and accounts.
  • Create annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Maintain systems and controls.
  • Work with the management team to ensure a financially efficient factory.
  • Maintain transfer pricing for inter-company transactions.
  • Identify scrap reduction initiatives.

Currently there are two direct reports which you will need to coach, manage and lead ensuring the finance team are working collectively and effectively to support the business. You will also be required to manage upwards effectively.
As stated above this role as the Senior Plant Controller is required on site five
days a week.

This role is 37.5 hours per week. Although the majority of staff work 9-5 there is flexibility to start earlier and/or finish later as the factory is open from 7:30am until 6pm.

Benefits
  • Base salary: £40k to £45k.
  • Christmas shut down*.
  • 23 days holiday which increases with service (excluding bank holidays)*.

*The factory will shut on Christmas Eve until 2nd January (six days) but three
days will be deducted from your annual leave entitlement.

Skills and experience to be successful as a Senior Plant Controller
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Experience of the manufacturing sector.
  • Variance analysis.
  • Use of SAP and knowledge of terminology e.g. Bill of Materials.
  • Management Accounts experience including budgeting, forecasting and risk management.
  • Business partnering, adding value and constructive challenge.
  • Coaching, managing and inspiring others.
  • A curious mindset and strive for excellence.
The Interview Process
  • 60 minute TEAMS interview with the hiring manager.
  • Personality Profile.
  • 60 minute face to face meeting with the hiring manager and The Factory Director.
