Our Client has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the team!
Position: Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Glasgow (hybrid working)
Salary: c£55,000 plus an excellent benefits package
Employer: Leading University in Glasgow
Senior Financial Accountant - Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the financial and management accounting functions
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and university policies
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial systems and processes
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, ensuring effective audit processes
- Manage treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and investment strategies
Senior Financial Accountant - Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in financial and management accounting
- Previous experience working in the public sector, ideally within a university or other large, complex organisation
- Strong background in audit and/or treasury management
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
