Senior FPGA Engineer

Profectus are seeking an experienced FPGA engineer for a role in high reliability-critical systems for a leading tech client. This position involves architecting FPGA systems for new products, focusing on requirements capture, design, and development. The ideal candidate will have extensive FPGA design experience and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect FPGA systems for new products
  • Lead FPGA module development and interface coordination
  • Develop Test-Bench modules for design validation
  • Stay updated with the latest FPGA technologies
  • Identify and resolve system issues

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive VHDL experience for FPGA development
  • Familiarity with FPGA and SoC technologies
  • Proficient in TCL scripting
  • Experience with Modelsim / Questasim and Quartus tool chain
  • Degree in a relevant STEM subject
  • Strong problem-solving and team leadership skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Vivado, Libero, and Verilog
  • Knowledge of System Verilog and UVM/OSVVM/ABV
  • Familiarity with Network Layer protocols and cryptographic algorithms
  • Experience with high speed and ultra-low power FPGA technologies
  • Understanding of USB 3.2, NVMe interfaces, and Redhat Linux

Conditions:

  • Must be a British Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DV security clearance
