Development Management Senior Engineer - Highways
Location: Chelmsford
Salary: Up to £50,211 per annum
Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Style: Remote

Essex Highways is seeking a Senior Engineer for Development Management. This role involves overseeing the design and construction of developer-funded highway infrastructure works, ensuring they meet the standards for adoption as public highways. The postholder will manage the implementation of highway works in line with planning consents and county policies, contribute to policy development, and liaise with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with planning obligations for highway works.
* Manage budgetary controls and deliver projects within budget and quality specifications.
* Assist in consultations, agree detailed designs, and meet planning conditions.
* Extensive stakeholder liaison and adherence to statutory processes.
* Provide accurate advice to public officials and the general public on highway matters.
* Provide technical direction to team members.

Requirements:
* Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in highways/transportation.
* Continued professional development and professional institution membership (CIHT preferred).
* Knowledge of Highway Legislation, design procedures, standards, and Health and Safety legislation.
* Strong project management skills and proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft applications.
