We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our Metroline London Team. This pivotal role will work as a business partner with the Transport Operations Leadership team to drive strategic HR initiatives. Serving as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing guidance on talent management, strategic workforce planning, employee relations, well-being and coming up with innovative ways of working to enhance learning and development.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Senior HR roles within the transport sector and possess a strong ability to lead and motivate teams.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyse HR metrics and data to inform strategic decisions and improvements on a regular basis. Producing a monthly people report and be aware of the key indicators relating to people that drive performance and have a plan to address any concerns
• Use the data and analytics to inform HR strategies, enhance business performance, and support organisational design, including talent and succession planning, restructuring and change management
• Provide coaching and support to managers in the garage and employees to promote continuous learning and development, this may include designing and delivery of workshops to upskill managers
• Drive a performance culture and ensure employees have clear performance objective and receive regular feedback
• Participate actively in pay negotiations and discussions to ensure fair and competitive compensation structures
• Provide support and assist management with TUPE transfers, both in and out, ensuring compliance with legislation requirements
• Conduct briefings as appropriate for managers to keep them informed about updates and changes in employment legislation
• Develop and maintain a structured process for updating company policies, ensuring collaboration and engagement with union representatives
• Collaborate with legal teams on tribunal cases, sharing lessons learned and best practices with managers to prevent future issues
• Oversee employee relations, addressing issues promptly and effectively to maintain a positive work environment
• Have a structured approach to working with the Union and support the Transport Leadership team as appropriate in key meetings
• Drive diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a workplace that reflects the community we serve
• Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations and brief updates in legislations to the team as needed
• Ensure robust successions plans are in place for key roles and be involved in talent discussions
• Oversee the HR Ops team which consists of HR Advisors and Administrators, to ensure efficient processes, clear processes and best in class HR practices that focus on delivering excellent speedy service to the stakeholders

About You

• Extensive experience in HR roles within the transport industry
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
• Demonstrated success in senior HR business partner roles, with a strategic focus
• Proficiency in using HR data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve business outcomes
• Effective time management skills and comfortable managing challenging and conflicting priorities
• MCIPD (Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
• Strong understanding of employment law, HR policies and best practices. Experience of managing ACAS and ET claims.
