Senior HR Manager (People Advisory Manager)

Location: Birmingham, UK
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time

Overall Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Senior HR Manager (People Advisory Manager) to join their team in Birmingham. Reporting to the Associate Director of People Operations and Advisory, this role is crucial in the development and delivery of the company's people strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with a Business Partner for the tax service line, operationally delivering the people strategy through their People Advisory team. This role ensures high-level people support, fostering a sense of engagement and belonging across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Experience:
    • Serve as the focal point for employee experience within the allocated service line and region, covering wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement.
    • Build effective relationships with service line heads, leadership teams, and partners to drive a premium employee experience.
  • People Change Programmes:
    • Initiate and lead people change programmes on both a service line and regional basis, ensuring impacts and risks are well-managed.
  • People Strategy:
    • Contribute to the people strategy by driving high-quality interactions and seamless processes to support the company’s aim of being an employer of choice.
    • Provide insights to support employee experience issues and develop knowledge and awareness through various channels.
  • Market Trends:
    • Understand and respond to current and future market trends affecting the business through a deep understanding of employment markets.
  • Policy and Procedure:
    • Ensure adherence to existing people policies and procedures, providing commercial solutions where relevant.
    • Manage performance, employee relations matters, and annual employee lifecycle processes across the service line.
  • Resource Requirements:
    • Collaborate with Early Careers and Experienced Hire teams to understand resource requirements and drive service line attraction/recruitment processes.
  • People Analytics:
    • Champion the development and use of people analytics to deliver insights, improve management decision-making, and focus on resources and efficiencies.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and develop the People Advisory team, building capabilities and technical competence, providing development and growth opportunities, and sharing best practices.
Candidate Requirements:
  • CIPD qualified, Level 7 or above.
  • Minimum of 3 years HR management experience, managing 8 -10 advisors/administrators and supporting upto 8000 employee's UK wide
  • High degree of business acumen with the interpersonal skills, courage, and expertise to influence business leaders effectively.
  • Strong understanding of best people practices across the employee lifecycle and the importance of the employee experience.
  • Proven track record of leading a team to create and deliver business-focused people solutions.
  • Excellent team skills and ability to collaborate across the people team to drive effective business support.
  • Knowledge of people future thinking and employment trends with a forward-focused approach to operational people development and delivery.
  • Ability to develop relevant and commercial people propositions and gain buy-in from business leaders.
  • Extensive experience in managing employee relations effectively within a regulated environment.
  • Experience in delivering employee engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion strategies.
  • Critical thinker with a strong sense of curiosity, bringing innovation, challenge, and insight to the role.
  • Ability to identify people risks and apply effective mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in the development and application of people analytics to inform decision-making.
