Location: Remote | Travel to the East Midlands office 1-2 times a year

Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to play a key role in supporting delivery of the technical roadmap during a time of digital change and transformation. In this role, you will:

  • Implement new software programs
  • Integrate software components and third-party programs (backend development)
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding technology and solutions
  • Recommend and execute improvements
  • Create technical-level documentation
  • Work as part of a Scrum team and provide regular updates

Core Requirements:

  • Java 17 proficiency (will consider Java 8 onwards)
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot
  • Familiarity with Docker
  • Test-Driven Development
  • Knowledge of Web API/Web Service
  • Proficiency in SQL (design, development, and performance monitoring)
  • Experience with Continuous Development and Deployment processes
  • Source control experience (GIT or equivalent)
  • Ability to set out code and development standards

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps sprint management
  • Familiarity with automated testing processes and strong problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of the Scrum development lifecycle
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience guiding a small team of developers
  • Familiarity with the Play framework

Interview Process: Recorded initial conversation that will be passed on to hiring managers, followed by a further discussion to establish technical and cultural fit with the team. Both will be conducted online.
