Senior Java Developer - Brighton & Hybrid working

Must be prepared to travel to Brighton office Hybrid basis.

Senior Java Developer to join an established company that has seen significant growth over the last 18 months. This Senior Java Developer role is permanent and will be office based in Brighton, however candidates will have flexibility to work from home. The Salary is dependent on experience.

The Senior Java Developer will need solid knowledge of Java and experience working within an agile environment.

This Senior Java Developer role will suit someone who is looking for a fresh challenge as a Java Developer working for a growing company where career progression is encouraged, therefore possibilities for team lead and management.

Key Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of the Java language and the Spring framework
  • Strong background in developing web applications
  • Knowledge of Java application server software including Tomcat
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Experience in managing cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with issue tracking using JIRA or other issue tracking software

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in microservice architecture
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud infrastructure tools and automation,AWS
  • Agile software development
  • Knowledge of single page web applications
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs
  • CSS, HTML and JavaScript (ideally React)
  • Working with agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • An understanding of CI automation tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines
  • Experience with Unix
  • Shell scripting
