Large UK law firm is keen to hire a Senior Legal Cashier on an interim 6-12 month FTC basis to join their Thameside based central London offices.

Salary up to 42k DOE

Hybrid Working (2 days office, 3 remote)

Reporting into the Cashier Manager the Senior Legal Cashier will provide an efficient cashiers service to the firm’s fee earners and costs teams and will involve regular liaison with Partners, the Finance team and Business Service groups. The role requires an experienced senior level Legal Cashier with strong law firm experience and knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules who is able to operate unsupervised and handle multiple office and client transactions using Elite 3E.

Senior Legal Cashier duties include:

  • Processing of Client and office accounting transactions via CHAPS and BACS payments through Elite 3E
  • Processing and administration of Legal Aid to include reconciliation
  • Ensuring invoices are submitted and recorded accurately
  • Review transferred files from other Solicitors to ensure correct fund allocation.
  • Processing, authorising and releasing of Client payments and receipts.
  • Checking and posting bills.
  • Apply SAR knowledge to all transactions and alert with COFA any breaches

Senior Legal Cashier requirments:

  • Minimum 4 years current experience as a Legal Cashier
  • A first class understanding of SAR and wider compliance implications
  • Confident Excel user and possessing a knowledge of various legal accounting software, preferably Elite 3E
  • Able to commit to the duration of the contract, up to 12 months
  • Able to work in the office 1-2 a week (dependent on busy times), with possible occasional travel to regional offices (once/twice a month)
