Senior Litigation Paralegal

• Annual Salary: £25k - £30k p/a.
• Location: Orpington
• Hours: 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri

We are seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal ideally with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Case Handler or File Handler, ideally within the Insurance industry. The successful candidate will manage a mixed caseload, including liability disputes, repair, and credit hire small claims cases, ensuring effective management of the litigation process and adherence to SLAs.

Senior Litigation Paralegal Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage a mixed caseload of liability disputes, repair, and credit hire small claims cases.
• Ensure effective management of the litigation process to meet SLAs.
• Work a task list effectively and prioritise workload.
• Negotiate quantum and assess liability with precision.
• Draft Court documents with attention to detail.
• Liaise competently with clients regarding uninsured losses and obtain relevant case information.
• Adhere to all court deadlines and ensure compliance.
• Take and draft comprehensive statements for case building.
• Book and instruct Counsel to attend trial as necessary.
• Allocate settlement funds accurately and efficiently.
• Undertake file reviews, provide supervision, and sign off on Court documents for junior team members.
• Deliver quality work consistently and efficiently.

Senior Litigation Paralegal Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Case Handler or File Handler, preferably in the Insurance industry.
• RTA claims, small and fast track, credit hire experience.
• Proven track record of managing a caseload independently.
• Strong negotiation skills and an ability to assess liability effectively.
• Proficiency in drafting Court documents and managing litigation processes.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff members is desirable.
