DK Recruitment are working exclusively with dynamic and growing organisation based in Plymouth, in their search for a Senior Management Accountant to join their team and contribute to their continued success. This role offers a clear succession plan, providing a pathway to senior leadership within the next 18 months.

The Role

As the Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations across multiple locations within the region. You will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure robust financial control, and support decision-making processes to drive business performance. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who is CIMA qualified and ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to regional management teams to drive business performance.
  • Monitor and report on key financial metrics, identifying trends and variances, and proposing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the region, working closely with operational teams to ensure realistic and achievable targets.
  • Ensure effective financial controls are in place and adhered to, conducting regular reviews and audits as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Support the succession planning process, preparing to transition into a senior leadership role within the next 18 months.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting, preferably within a regional or multi-site environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience in team management and development is highly desirable.
