Role
The Senior Management Accountant role sits within the Finance team and plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth running of the PR agency's financial operations.

Key responsibilities:

Banking, cashflow and general credit control

- Manage all bank account transactions, daily transactions to be posted by Assistant Accountant.
- Review debtors and oversee the Accounts Assistant's credit control.
- Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled monthly.
- Produce the monthly aged debtor report and circulate to the Leadership team. Respond to any queries.

Monthly & Year-End Accounts and Intercompany & Currency

- Complete the monthly management accounts for all parts of the Group.
- Process WIP, prepayments, and accruals, agreeing relevant spreadsheet records to the Nominal Ledger.
- Ensure end-of-month intercompany bank balances/accounts agree; process any necessary inter-company transactions and journals.
- Assist in preparing the year-end accounts.
- Maintain a monthly Fixed Asset Register; reconcile it to the fixed asset accounts on the Nominal Ledger.
- Re-value currency balances (monthly), using end-of-month rates.
- Update currency exchange rates (monthly) on the Finance System.

Sales and purchase ledger

- Manage the Accounts Assistant, Project Managers, and Account Directors to ensure that sales invoices (or credits) are raised promptly, approved, and posted accurately.
- Oversee the processing of supplier invoices, ensuring that they are authorized by the appropriate senior person.
- Oversee preparation and setup of payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid promptly and that payments are authorized.

Project management system, job costing, and project accounting

- Advise account handlers on setting up jobs on the System if required.
- Identify and request missing PO's from relevant account handlers.
- Provide account managers with job burn reports so that account managers can update their jobs and avoid projects over-running.
- Provide job analysis to account managers.
- Deal with internal queries raised by managers.
- Help to keep the System updated with job and accounting information, as required.

Credit cards, timesheets, and expenses

- Manage the processing of company credit cards, ensuring expenses are received from managers promptly, authorized and coded correctly; reconcile the spending on these cards to the monthly credit card statement.
- Manage the posting of expenses and cash transactions to the ledger monthly.
- Check expenses and receipts to ensure they are accurately recorded, allocated to the correct projects, and that supporting documentation is adequate.
- Assist with timesheets and expense queries.

Skills:

- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Flexible approach.

Experience:

- 1-2 years' experience in an agency or consultancy background.
- A recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Experience of Business Central / Power BI / Scoro - advantageous.
