Senior Management Accountant

About the role

You'll be joining a strong, established finance team with excellent leadership and management teams in place. You'll join a team which ensures strong availability of commercial data is available to support decision making in key areas. You will take ownership of the timely delivery of the Group management accounts alongside the subsidiary management accounts. This role is imperative to the business, supporting effective management control and decision making, enabling strategic planning, monitoring & reporting.

Your role will also take ownership of stock reporting including valuation reviews and stock ageing to ensure accurate recording and allow strategic decision making on stock levels, locations and recoverability.

Key duties will include:

• Oversee the development and production of the individual subsidiary management accounts together with the Group management accounts
• Owning valuation and ageing of stock and making recommendations to the SLT and Board
• Delivering a range of commercial finance projects across the Group to support key strategic objectives
• Working alongside the Head of FP&A with the production of the Group budgets and forecasts
• Conduct the monthly gross margin review and reconciliation with the assistance of the management accounts team
• Processing ledger transactions and reconciliations
• Conduct the monthly group stock valuations and provisions
• Calculate and process group GM provisions
• Monthly review of the groups' product costing records and tracing errors back to their source
• Working with the Group Financial Controller to ensure a smooth internal and external audit
• Maintenance and uploading of all stock costing information on to Navision for all Group Companies
• Monitoring and control of sample stocks across the Group
• Ensuring accounting information is clear and concise through accurate posting of journals
• Leading the management accounts team, ensuring the highest standards of performance whilst ensuring that the team are continually challenged and learn the ability to challenge

About you

You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with strong comparable experience in a similar role. You will have good experience of managing and developing teams alongside sound working knowledge of MS Office packages particularly MS Excel.
To be successful in the role, you will have the ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines, able to demonstrate sound communication skills at all levels and a proactive approach to work.

Sound stock reporting experience (including valuations and provisions) would be highly advantageous for this role, as well as prior Group operations exposure and familiarity with FX transactions.
