AWS Network Engineer - £65k - Hybrid 

Our client are seeking a highly skilled AWS Network Engineer to join the Infrastructure department, which is responsible for supporting our client's IT infrastructure externally. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in modern networking practices, with extensive experience in managing Meraki, Cloudflare, on-premise Cisco switches, and the expansion of SASE technologies.
  
As part of their Cloud first strategy, you must have a strong working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be proficient in managing security aspects related to AWS services, including Active Directory, Entra, and other related technologies.
  
Responsibilities of AWS Network Engineer:
  • Manage day-to-day operations: Oversee the day-to-day running of networking infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and resolving network-related incidents promptly.
  • Implement and maintain network infrastructure: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain the company's network infrastructure, including AWS, Meraki, Cloudflare, and on-premise Cisco switches. Ensure optimal network performance and security by regularly monitoring and upgrading network devices.
  • Expand SASE technologies: Lead the expansion and enhancement of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) technologies within the network infrastructure. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices relating to SASE and implement appropriate solutions to align with the company's security policies.
  • Align with security policies: Ensure adherence to company ISO27001 requirements and align network security measures with the security requirements set by customers. Collaborate closely with the security team to implement and enforce appropriate security controls, monitor network access, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Network optimization and troubleshooting: Continuously identify areas for network optimization and implement effective solutions to enhance network performance, reliability, and security. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve networking issues promptly.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines. Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and recommend improvements to enhance infrastructure efficiency.  
Requirements of AWS Network Engineer:

  • Proven experience as a AWS Networking Engineer or similar role, with a focus on modern networking technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Meraki, Cloudflare, and on-premise Cisco switches.
  • Strong understanding of SASE technologies and their implementation in a corporate network environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, network security, and routing/switching concepts.
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 requirements and experience aligning networks with security policies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to network maintenance and optimization.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
