Role: Senior Networks Data Engineer/Modeller

Rate: £550-650 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: London

The Role

Our client are building out their digital infrastructure to modernise the way it does reporting. This means designing new data requests, pipelines, and serverless SQL layers to build an end-to-end process for landing, validating, modelling, and provisioning data. This role will integrate with their data engineering team (delivering a new Strategic Common Data Platform) and the Insight Data Architecture team to help deliver a new reporting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Re-modelling existing reporting packs required under "instructions and guidance" to a new structure that can be easily generated, compiled, and re-arranged into STAR format
  • Design and develop Azure Pipelines including data transformation and data cleansing
  • Ensure an output consistent with the clients enterprise data model

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to work with Azure Data Lakes, Azure Synapse, pipelines and Storage accounts to build a modern data warehouse
  • Ability to translate complex, legacy excel-based data processes into flat files for exchange and then an OLAP data model
  • Able to use T-SQL to build reporting views and Python to develop automation
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to conduct data discoveries both internally and externally
  • Able to work with version control systems, particularly Git via DevOps

Desirable Criteria

  • Microsoft Certified Data Engineer Associate
