Senior PHP Developer

Manchester (hybrid)

Candour are working with a specialist software provider in Manchester that has partnered with global brands for over 30 years. They are now in one of the most successful eras in the business's history, looking to grow their development team. Their latest hire is a Senior PHP Developer to join a medium-sized team of established professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain robust PHP applications using an MVC framework.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Manage and optimize large databases using MySQL.
  • Work with Linux servers for deployment and maintenance of applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in PHP development with expertise in an MVC framework.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong front-end development skills with experience in JavaScript frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, Svelte, or jQuery.
  • Proficiency in managing and optimizing MySQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of Linux server environments.
