Senior Planner

Our client is a leading main contractor with an extensive portfolio of successful projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and healthcare. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join the team in Yorkshire.

Job Summary: As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of complex construction projects. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Astapower software, ensuring that all project milestones are met in line with client expectations. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to provide strategic planning support and ensure the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, including timelines, critical path analysis, and resource allocation using Astapower.
• Schedule Management: Monitor project progress against the plan, identify potential delays, and propose corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project timelines and deliverables.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to project timelines and develop mitigation strategies.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including earned value analysis, to senior management and clients.
• Cost Control: Work closely with the commercial team to integrate cost control measures into the project schedule.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed of the project status and any changes to the schedule.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes and methodologies within the company.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Planner in the construction industry, with a strong background in managing large and complex projects.
• Proficient in Astapower software and other relevant planning tools.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
