Our client, a prominent organisation in the engineering sector, is seeking a talented Senior Project Accountant to join their team in Glasgow. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work on high-value and high-complexity projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that forecast orders, sales, and invoicing are updated regularly, including identifying risks and opportunities monthly
  • Assist in completing the Program Dashboards and Corporate Social Responsibility reports
  • Monitor project expenditure and delivery with a tight focus on cash milestones
  • Support Program Managers in understanding actual costs incurred
  • Support Programme Managers to ensure costs to completion estimates and estimates at completion for programmes are accurately reflected
  • Proactively identify cost savings
  • Monitor and report on risks associated with the program
  • Reconcile project costs within Oracle and manage monthly reconciliations
  • Support the Head of Finance in preparing annual budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare consolidated project financials and act as the point of contact for consolidated project reporting
  • Participate in bid processes and support commercial claims
Job Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of commercial and financial aspects of the business
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and proposing solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to present and explain the implications of complex business issues
  • Ability to interact with non-finance managers and individuals at all levels in the business
  • Flexibility to work in a changing environment
  • Professional accounting qualification
  • Proven experience in Project Accounting within an engineering/manufacturing background
  • Fully Qualified Charted Accountant
  • Highly proficient in Excel, with Oracle experience preferred
