Senior Quantity Surveyor - Cambridge
We are working with an established house-builder in Hertfordshire, who are looking for an experienced Senior QS to be the commercial lead for their project in St Neots, Cambridge.
- 1 day working from home
- 4 days on site (St Neots), or in the head office in Hertfordshire
Reporting to the Managing Surveyor/Commercial Director, you will oversee surveying for assigned developments in the region, taking primary responsibility for commercial aspects including payments and costs. Traditional build background is essential.
Your duties will include producing precise and realistic estimates, monthly CVRs, budgets, forecasts, and implementing cost control measures. Additionally, you will monitor site performance against initial plans, budgets, and financial targets. Regular communication with other departments such as Sales, Land, Construction, and Technical Architects will be essential, as you will be required to provide cost reports and key updates to meet deadlines. Therefore, you must be capable of producing accurate reports and presentations, have excellent attention to detail, and be self-motivated and proactive.
You will also take full ownership of surveying responsibilities for your own developments and support the commercial team as needed regarding the financial status and profitability of assigned projects.
