Salary: £28,770 - £30,296, plus enhancements for waking nights, Bank Holidays, Sunday working, and sleep-ins.
Location: Middlesbrough This is a permanent, full-time position.
Role Description: We’re seeking a Senior Residential Worker to join our team. In this challenging yet rewarding role, you’ll mentor children who have experienced significant trauma, helping them form healthy relationships and appreciate the value of education. The ideal applicant should be resilient, empathetic individual committed to making a positive impact. You should believe in the untapped potential of these children and be able to provide valuable guidance and support to help them thrive.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Planning and providing child-centred cultural, physical, play, and recreational activities.
- Contributing creatively to effective care planning.
- Providing therapeutic relationships with the children.
- Developing understanding of therapeutic childcare practice.
- Monitoring the care and treatment of assigned children within the household.
- Working on a flexible rota 365 days a year, including long days, sleep shifts, waking nights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Willingness to work towards or hold NVQ 4 or QCF diploma in working with children and young people in Residential care, or equivalent relevant Children’s Residential work.
- Willingness to complete or hold HSC 375 medication or equivalent.
- Desire to undertake further education/training.
- Training or qualifications that demonstrate effective communication and critical thinking.
- A valid and full UK Driving Licence.
